Okay it 's been almost a year since I posted, am I terrible or what? I've come to discover that being a stay at home mom is not for me I don't have the patience needed to be one. So I work and my daughter's in daycare about 6-7 hours a day (I work at 5:15 am and get off between 1 and 3 pm) Andrew takes Aislynn to daycare around 8 am. I'm battling pnuemonia, a messy house and a guilty concience. Somebody please tell me I'm not terrible for giving my cats back to the no kill shelter? PLEASE! They were pooping and peeing everywhere BUT their kitty litter box I tried everything I could think of for three months with no improvement, the final straw as it were was when the cat pooped in my work shoes (granted they're flip flops but still). Andrew grandpa passed away in May and his Grandma is now in the hospital and not expected to last the year. I"ve lost 25 pounds. I was made head guard recently, means better pay but more respinsibility and less people liking you. I have the headache from hell and have had it for the past 6 days, it's not low iron and it's not dehydration, I have no clue what's causing it but I wish it would go away. It does not match the top 100 going around in the meme, but it is the current top 100 according to "The Big Read."
Huh well I'm only missing four books in the top 25, lol and that's not even close to an eighth of the books that I've read in my lifetime, lol. Well I think that the Big Read needs to rethink its statistics here. Taken from fyredancer on livejournal | | Monday, June 23rd, 2008 | | 7:58 am |
I've gad a very bad day already and its only seven am. To explain I need to set a little background. My mom told me several months ago to get quotes for a driveway to be installed (I only having had a gravel drive) She told me that she was going to give me some of the money from Grandpa's estate to have it put in. I did and I now have quite a nice driveway, however I wish I had never gotten it. Why you ask do I wish I had never gotten such a beautiful driveway? Because this morning I went to work out with my mom like normal, I said hi and asked her how she was, her reply you don't really care all you care about is the money the check's in the locker. When I tried to talk to her and ask why she thought that she didn't want to talk. So I left. So my day is already bad and it's only 7 am.
So thanks mom for tearing out the foundation of my self-esteem (what little I have) She called and left a voicemail apologizing but it doesn't help much. It still cut me to the quick and basically left me sobbing for the past hour or so.
Well that's how I am ttl | | Wednesday, April 30th, 2008 | | 9:32 pm |
I really am very bad at keeping this updated. Well my daughter is now 5 months old, and we're doing well we have to do a dentist cleaning for our kitties that could reach up to 500-900 dollars per kitty. That's mostly what's happening in my life recently ttl. | | Wednesday, February 20th, 2008 | | 8:28 am |
Holy Cow I'm bad at updating this thing, I'm alive and relatively sane at the moment. I have an hmmmm....anti-rec? A book that I don't rec to anyone, and horror of horrors its a best seller that was recced to me by many various people, drum roll please, this horror of books that I was unable to read more then a hundred pages before being disgusted by the utter lack of characterization, the total idiocy of the main characters and the authors truly weak writing abilities is none other then Stephanie Meyer's Twighlight, yes it's true I loathe the book, in all it's poorly written undefined plotlessness, or would that be cliched plotnees? Granted it's a teenage romance, granted it's a Vampire teen Romance, but come on at least give me a STRONG writer (Tamora Pierce anyone). I give every book I read a hundred pages to get me interested and keep my attention (unless it is an author that I truly love then they get longer although most of them grab me in the first 5 pages) And I can safely say that this is a book I will not attempt again unless I am feeling masochistic. Anyway what I can't believe is that it's being touted as the next Harry Potter, yes JK Rowling has plot holes and okay she has a few cliche moments but at least she's a strong writer, whose stories grab yo by the throat and don't let go till you're done reading the book. Anyway enough with my ranting on this piece of masochistic drivel.
In other news my daughter turned three months on the fifteenth and is babbling up a storm, she makes the cutest noises! My brother says that I think they're cute now but I won't when they get louder and more frequent and I just want some peace and quiet, hah if I wanted peace and quiet I would never have gotten married, also if I need time to myself I have both sets of grandparents to ask to take her for a while (afterall hubby can't really he's doing school and work both) The massage thing is going pretty well I have another appointment today at two to go work at WaMu again *does mini dance for joy* This works better then me working for a spa or other business mainly because I'm still breastfeeding and can't be away from Aislynn more then six hours, methinks breastfeeding will last till she starts teething then it shall go byebye. My mom thinks I may have to introduce solids to her Aislynn's diet soon mainly because she eats so much! I'll nurse her and then give her a bottle from which she'll drink anywhere from 6 to nine ounces, and be hungry again in about two hours. AH!! I forgot to tell you she now ways almost eight pounds and is over 22 inches long. It's funny I have some outfits that have onsies and then bottoms, she can't wear the bottoms because they're too BIG around the waist (she's so skinny1)
Alright that's my daughter babble for a bit. My front room looks better while my kitchen is a disaster area and my bathroom needs a major scrub, however MY FRONT ROOM IS ORGANIZED!!!! Yay!!!! I told Andrew we were going to clean it last weekend and we did, I no longer have Christmas trees up (we were having a mini-battle, he thought I should be the one to take them down, and I stood firm that it's his job to take the trees down as well as put them up, its my job to decorate and take ornaments off them, I won) My cats are adjusting to having a little one in the house that takes most of my attention, and are content to curl up next to me now instead of ontop of me, and they both still have beautiful purrs. And that's whats going on in my life I hope to hear from you soon (Annica if you read this I miss you terribly) | | Thursday, January 31st, 2008 | | 9:25 pm |
Sheesh it's amazing how much time being a mommy eats up. Currently my daughter is 3/4s asleep and fighting being all the way asleep. My house looks like a disaster zone and needs a majorly thorough cleaning. On Monday the 28th we said farewell to my good friend Annica, she has since moved to Portland, Oregon. I will miss her as she is one of the too few friends I have that was close enough to visit. My dryer is broken so I'm way behind on laundry. I'm starting to do massages again, I have an appointment to go into a WaMu branch and do seated massage there on Wednesday. My dad's b-day is on Monday, and my Bro is coming up from Saint George this weekend so we can celebrate. Well that's my current life in a nutshell, hope I hear from everybody soon. | | Wednesday, December 19th, 2007 | | 1:31 am |
I had a bit of a mental breakdown this morning which resulted in Andrew staying home, he took care of Aislynn all by himself for the whole morning, it was wonderful. Then we drove to mom's office and had lunch with her and showed Aislynn off to her co-workers, much oohing was heard. Afterward we went to Andrew's work and showed her off there and again much oohing was to be heard. Then we went to the bookstore, YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally after nearly three MONTHS of not being able to go book shopping I was able to go. I bought 19-22 of Naruto as 19-27 has come out since I was confined to bed rest, I bought 21 of Bleach. And then I bought Luck in the Shadows by Morgan Flwelling, and I bought Dragonfire by Donita K Paul. After I was done I also had a list of sixteen books to check my library for, then I shopped for Christmas gifts, I got my nephew Samson a pop-up book of Dragons!!! it's tres cool. Then I got my hubby the Ethilium (I think that's how you spell it) by David Eddidings. After book shopping was done we went to RC Willey's and picked out a new vinyl floor that both Grandma's are paying for for our kitchen and laundry room, the current one is over twenty years old and is coming up. So anyway that was my day, I feel much better after having been out of the house. | | Thursday, December 6th, 2007 | | 6:08 pm |
LIFE STINKS!!!!! Oh joy oh rapture I get to have another surgery! That's right I get the great honor of having my gallbladder removed on the thirteenth. Damnit I was just starting to feel better and now I have to go through another surgery and another bout of being absolutely worthless for more then sitting around and helping take care of Aislynn. This royally SUCKS!!!!!! Please no more!!! Okay there I vented gotta go Aislynn's calling. | | Monday, November 19th, 2007 | | 7:36 am |
SHE'S HERE!!!! Yes to all of you who care, my daughter is born. Her name is Aislynn Renae Jones, she was delivered via C-section on Thur. Nov. 15 2007 at 12:57pm She is 4lbs 9 Ounces and is three weeks early. She is truly a miracle child, not only did she have to contend with mommy having hyper tension, but she also had the cord wrapped three times around her neck. Most babies who have that happen die either before or during delivery. She's tiny and adorable, and worth every single moment of pain I have had, and all the needle pokes *shudder*. I won't tell you all the drama just know that there was quite a lot and that I do believe God grants miracles because I'm holding one in my arms right now. | | Thursday, October 25th, 2007 | | 8:06 pm |
GRRR Well life can throw you unexpected curveballs at the worst possible time. I went to the Doctor for my regular visit today. I found out that I have Pregnancy Induced Hyper Tension (PIHT). Basically depending on how the blood test comes back tomorrow I may have to be induced this week, for now I've been banished to bed rest, let me tell you it is extremely hard to be on bed rest when your house is a mess and you have a large number of things that need to get done, not only before baby but before the first hard frost. So far I've been on bed rest for half a day and I'm already going CRAZY!!!!!! Anyway hope you're all doing better than me. | | Wednesday, October 24th, 2007 | | 9:40 pm |
WOOT!!!!!!!!!! My hubby is a GENIUS GEEK!!!!!!!!!!!! I called Dell about my laptop and they told me it would be 500 dollars to repair it, I resigned myself to going without a laptop and borrowing Andrew's when he wasn't using it. My hubby then decided that he'd take a look at the thing, in under an hour he had the problem figured out and FIXED!!!!!! Therefore my hubby is a GENIUS GEEK!!!!!!!!! And no one else can have him :P Well just wanted to let you know I'll be online more often now, and of course brag about my hubby. | | Sunday, October 21st, 2007 | | 11:59 am |
First post and some recs Well it certainly has been a long time since I updated hasn't it. I'm alive and doing well, still preggers and it's a GIRL she shall be named Aislynn Renee Jones. My hubby now has me hooked on Puzzle Quest, it's similar to bejeweled but is in a battle format.
The baby's room just needs the base molding and a little touch up painting and it will be ready for baby furniture and baby. YAY! I also have a new hallway floor (it was badly needed, pea green SHAG plus baby do not mix) The floor in both hallway and baby's room are bamboo. I also painted the hallway, because lime green and blue walls do not make for a very nice looking hallway unless you're from the sixties and tripping on acid. The hall is now a nice nuetrel sand color and the hall fairly glows with warmth and is no longer dark and dingy, now I just have to replace the globe light fixtures and it will look even better. I also have to paint the trim white, but that's less important then finishing Aislynn's room.
While my hubby and my daddy were putting in the new floor my mom and I started redoing the flower beds in prep for the bulbs we ordered, we dug out literally three square feet of CLAY! No wonder the previous owner never had any success growing anything they never bothered to prep the beds!
I don't remember if I mentioned that my brother in law is now living with us, well he is. It's alright most of the time but sometimes I wish he'd find another place and just MOVE OUT! I understand that his finances are crapped out due to his divorce but still is it too much to ask to be able to jump my husband when I want to? TMI I know but still...and he's as bad as Andrew about cleaning up after himself and he's constantly dissing women which is really getting on my nerves. Yes his ex is a bitch and yes he's going through a tough time but bloody hell I'm FRICKING PREGNANT!!!!!!!! Sorry I have to rant somewhere other then to my husband, because Sam is my husbands brother.
My cats are doing well and have taken to ignoring when my belly jumps while they're cuddling, and they seem to want to cuddle more then ever. AJ the youngest one has settled down quite a bit these last few weeks, of course he's growing out of the kitten stage, his purr is just as loud as ever though which is nice.
I've read several new books recently and I recommend Pyramid Scheme and Pyramid Power by Dave Freer and Eric Flint to any of my fantasy loving buddies. I don't recommend Twilight (it was recommended to me by more then a few people) quite frankly I don't understand why it's a vampire romance written for teens and quite frankly the writing quality is poor. I also (based solely on the first fifty pages) tentatively recommend The Bone Doll's Twin by Lynn Flewelling. I was once again unsuccessful iin my attempts to read the Sword of Knowledge trilogy and Wheel of Time. Wheel of Time I actually got about halfway through this time, I don't think I'll be attempting it again anytime soon. I also started another manga series this on called Black Cat, I enjoyed the anime and so I decided to try the manga I've decided I like both. Any recs on the Sci-fi, fantasy front? Keeping in mind I've read everything Anne McCaffery, Mercedes Lackey, Andre Norton, and Marion Zimmer Bradley have written that I can get my hands on. I've also read a good portion of Alan Dean Foster, AC Crispin, Micheal A Stackpole, and many others. Actually any recs anywhere? (Except non-fiction, don't read it not interested in reading it).
ANyway that's all that's going on with my life currently, hope you're all doing well. |
